My name is Aidan Black-Allen and I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Certified Infant Sleep Educator living in downtown Toronto. Following the birth of my daughter, one of my biggest dreams came true. I was a parent. I never could have imagined that she would persuade me to pursue my greatest passion, working with new families and babies.
I know first hand how confusing, exciting and scary parenthood can be. It is my goal to help parents find their own unique style and voice and to help them advocate for the births and lives they want for their children. I believe that by creating a village of support, having access to non judgmental information and resources, and finding tools for balance and self care, families can thrive.
Becoming a parent and raising a child can leave at us at our most vulnerable. As your Doula and Infant Sleep Educator I will guide you and take charge when needed, help you find your voice and we will definitely have some laughs along the way!
I have supported over a hundred families as a Sleep Educator and Doula. As a birth doula, I have had the privilege of attending home births and hospital births. I support whatever birth you desire whether that is unmedicated or medicated, is hands off or requires interventions, is vaginal or operative, a planned cesarean or a VBAC. As a Sleep Educator I have worked with children up to five years old with completely unique temperaments and sleep challenges.
When I’m not welcoming babies or helping families sleep better, I can be found spending time with my husband Ryan, our daughter Rosalind, son Asher and crazy dog, Ziggy. When I'm off call, we love to travel and spend time at our cottage near Midland, Ontario. I have been an actor and drama teacher for fifteen years and especially love improv and sketch comedy.
I am certified as an Infant Sleep Educator and certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula through the Maternal Support Practitioner program with bebo mia inc., and have completed the CPR Level C, Healthcare Provider. I also hold a B.F.A. Specialization in Theatre Performance from Concordia University and am a graduate of the Second City Conservatory.
I'm proud to serve the Toronto community and provide doula support to the Greater Toronto Area. My Gentle Sleep Education services are available locally in person, and virtually across the world. I would love to hear from you.
